Campus Dress Code

2025 - 2026 BCMAR DRESS CODE GUIDELINES

'25-'26 School Uniforms

Dear Baylor College of Medicine Academy at James D. Ryan Parents and Students,

We are excited to begin the school year with our students! Please be advised that for the 2025-2026 school year, students will be expected to follow the BCMA at James D. Ryan dress code daily. As we attempt to ensure and increase safety measures, we have made a few enhancements to our policies. Students are expected to wear the same color polo-style tops and outerwear as their designated grade level. The colors are:  6th grade – burgundy, 7th grade – gray,  and 8th grade – blue. Students are not allowed to wear hoodies. Jackets should be able to zip or unbutton in the front to ensure they have the proper attire under their outerwear. Students may wear sweaters with no hoodie, but the sweater must be the same color as their designated grade level color. Female students are not allowed to wear tights as pants.

Headdress garments are only allowed for religious purposes.  Students are not allowed to wear jeans (only on Fridays with a BCM spirit or college shirt), bonnets, durags, caps, or sunshades on campus at any time.

All backpacks are expected to be clear or mesh to ensure nothing inappropriate or illegal is brought to school.

All articles of the uniform are to be maintained and worn to represent the individual students and the school in a positive manner. Students are expected to wear the uniform dress to the campus and throughout the entire day until leaving after school. Changes in the restroom before leaving school are not allowed.
