HISD is an open enrollment district of choice, where a family can apply to any school in the district that meets a student’s needs.The School Choice process allows families to choose from hundreds of neighborhood and specialty school options via a single application.

    Welcome to Sunrise Centers, a new initiative of Houston Independent School District. Our mission is to establish dynamic service hubs strategically located in community spaces, serving as comprehensive one-stop shops for HISD students and their families. Our commitment is to foster a positive impact to ensure that families have easy access to a wide array of resources.

    How to Access a Sunrise Center
    • Visit a Sunrise Center: Feel free to walk into any Sunrise Center in your community. Our welcoming staff is ready to assist you with any questions or support you may need.
    • Click Here: Please fill out the intake form, and a member of our Sunrise Center team will reach out to you promptly.
    • Connect with School Personnel: Reach out to your campus Wraparound Specialist, counselor, teacher, or nurse. They are well-equipped to guide you to the appropriate Sunrise Center resources tailored to your specific needs.
